Meet David Lashway, M.D.
David Lashway, MD has been in practice for over 28 years. He received his Doctor of Medicine at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina in 1984. He completed an internship and residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Bayfront Medical Center in St. Petersburg, FL. Throughout his career he has served on numerous medical committees including the Peer Review Committee, Credentials Committee, Surgical Care/Endoscopy Committee, Ob/Gyn Quality Care Committee, and Medical Executive Committee. He has served as the Chairman of the Ob/Gyn department as well as the Vice Chief of Staff. Currently, he is the Chief of Staff at Bethesda Memorial Hospital. Dr. Lashway also holds faculty appointments as Assistant Professor at the University of Miami and Florida Atlantic University.
Dr. Lashway is passionate about providing patient centered medical care based on mutual trust and communication and believes in providing medical care with special attention from a personal, familiar and environmental perspective. He prides himself in providing the most minimally invasive techniques available for gynecologic surgery. He is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and the Florida Obstetrical a nd Gynecology Society.
Kathleen Thompson, D.O.
Kathleen Thompson, DO completed her Doctorate of Osteopathic Medicine at Nova Southeastern University in 2008. She completed her residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois. During her training she received many accolades including Excellence as Chief Resident, Excellence in Obstetrics for Maternal Fetal Medicine, the Dr. Ephraim Grier Primary Care Award, and the Douglas Rhone Legacy Award, which highlights Dr. Thompson ability to provide excellent medical care using a team approach.
Dr. Thompson takes pride in her holistic approach to medicine to find the best treatments from conservative to surgical management, that serves each individual needs. She provides the most current procedures available and specializes in minimally invasive and robotic surgeries for various conditions including pelvic pain, fibroids, heavy menstrual bleeding, and uterine prolapse. She is board certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology and is a member of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologist and the American Society of Colposcopy and Cervical Pathology.
Thomas Lang, M.D., M.Sc.
Thomas Lang, M.D., M.Sc. received his Bachelors of Science with a major in Biology while completing an independent study in Theoretical Biophysics at Florida International University. He then went on to receive a Masters of Science in Biomedical Science from Barry University in Miami Shores, FL. Ultimately, he graduated magna cum laude from St. George’s University School of Medicine in 2007 and was President of the Medical Honors Society.
He completed Residency at Baylor College of Medicine in the prestigious Texas Medical Center in Houston, Texas. Throughout his residency he received many resident teaching awards including the Special Resident in Minimally Invasive Surgery Award. Dr. Lang chose to further specialize his training by completing a 2-year fellowship in Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Surgery at The University of Louisville under world renowned gynecologic surgeon, Resad Pasic, M.D., Ph.D. It was there that he became highly skilled in performing minimally invasive gynecologic surgery and advanced laparoscopy.
After completing his fellowship, he moved with his family to the Boynton Beach area where he is currently the director of the OB/GYN hospitalist program at Bethesda Hospital. Dr. Lang is also Assistant Professor and Co-Clerkship Director for the Florida Atlantic University Schmidt College of Medicine’s OB/GYN medical students. He has a passion for mentoring and passing on his knowledge to others. This passion is shared worldwide as Dr. Lang is an internationally recognized surgeon and lecturer. He has authored numerous textbook chapters on minimally invasive gynecologic procedures and is a very active member of the American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopy having authored several video abstracts, research articles as well as has served as faculty for several international courses in anatomy and surgical techniques.
Dr. Lang is a current member of the American Association for Gynecologic Laparoscopy, the American Medical Association, American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, and the American Institute of Ultrasound in Medicine.
